The Challenge
Developing a hillside property in Malibu involves navigating some of the most rigorous Coastal Commission approvals and environmental impact regulations in the country. The steep, unstable terrain required massive retaining walls and deep-foundation engineering while adhering to strict neighborhood height restrictions.
Our Solution
We successfully navigated the complex Coastal Commission entitlement process by working directly with environmental consultants and geotechnical engineers. We designed a tiered, low-impact foundation system utilizing deep-piled caissons to secure the structure into the bedrock. Currently on track for a mid-2026 completion, this meticulous approach ensures absolute structural stability without compromising the home's striking architectural design or its sweeping ocean views.
